Computer Equipment, Browser Access and Internet Service
To use the Customer Payment Center, you need a computer with a modem and a web browser (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer® or an equivalent). You are responsible for the set-up and maintenance of your home computer and modem and obtaining Internet services and all associated costs.
You acknowledge that there are certain security, corruption, transmission error, and access availability risks associated with using open networks such as the Internet and you hereby expressly assume such risks (to the extent the law allows you to do so). You acknowledge that you have requested the service for your convenience, have made your own independent assessment of the adequacy of the Internet as a delivery mechanism for accessing information and initiating instructions and that you are satisfied with that assessment.
We will not be responsible for any errors or failures from any malfunction of your computer or any computer virus or other problems related to your computer equipment used with our Customer Payment Center.
We are not responsible for any error, damages or other loss you may suffer due to malfunction or misapplication of any system you use, including your browser (Microsoft Explorer® or otherwise), your Internet service provider, or any equipment you may use (including your telecommunications facilities, computer hardware and modem) to access or communicate with the Customer Payment Center.
When you create your User Profile, you will be allowed to make payments on your account(s) and to view your personal account information. You agree to safeguard the username and password that you select when you create your User Profile. If you suspect that someone else knows your password and may attempt to use or has used the Customer Payment Center without your permission, you agree to immediately notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are not responsible for someone accessing your information by using your User Profile and password.
The information about your account(s) at Nationwide is normally updated nightly. Payments or other changes that may occur will not be reflected on your account(s) until the next update.
Immediate Payment Processing
Payments made on the Website on a business day (Monday through Friday, except holidays) during regular business hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time, will be applied to your account the same day they are made. Payments at other times will be applied to your account on the next business day. When you schedule a payment using the Customer Payment Center, you authorize us to withdraw the necessary funds from the account you designate.
Credit or debit card payments will be charged to your credit or debit card at the time you make the payment, even though your account with us may not be credited until the next business day. Payments made from your checking account will be processed as an electronic check or ACH transaction. They may be charged to your bank account the same day they are made and you will not receive a copy of your check. If your credit, debit or checking account number or any other information changes, you must provide us with these changes at least five (5) business days in advance of any payment transaction. If there are insufficient funds in your account to make the payment, you are responsible for any non-sufficient funds charges that may apply.
Future Scheduled Payments
Payments scheduled for a future date will be processed on the scheduled day or the next regular business day if the scheduled day is not a business day. If the payment is made by a credit or debit card, a transaction of $1.00 or less will be made and reversed to verify that the account is valid. While you will not be charged for this transaction, there will be a hold on your account for up to 72 hours for the amount of the transaction.
You may cancel a pending payment. However, to do so, we must receive your instruction to cancel prior to 1:00 PM on the day at least three (3) business days before the date the payment is scheduled to be processed. If we don't receive your instruction to cancel a payment before that time, we may process the payment.
We will charge you a convenience fee, up to $6.00 per payment. The amount of the fee will be displayed and added to your payment amount before you authorize the payment. We reserve the right to change the fee amount and will notify you by changing these terms and the amount indicated on the screen before you approve the payment.
